Examiner.com: Today in California, a man is claiming he was paid to vote for a specific presidential candidate in a past election. According to KCRA, a man identified only as ‘Jon’ claimed that he met a man on the Dark Web, where he sold his vote for $1400. Wired identifies the Dark Web as a group of publicly visible websites with hidden IP addresses. Items offered for sale on the Dark Web’s ‘black market’ include drugs, clean social security numbers with high credit scores, stolen credit cards, fake coupons, etc….
Though he claims to have no interest in politics, ‘Jon’ needed a new Macbook Pro for school at the time the transaction occurred, so he took the $1400 offered. He claims he went to a local Starbucks in Sacramento where the person buying his vote watched him fill out his absentee ballot, then walked with him to mail it. Read more.
